The No Surprises Act protects people covered under group and individual health plans from receiving surprise medical bills. It removes consumers from out-of-network payment disputes between their provider and health plan. The Act is effective for plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2022.
We believe every member should be aware of what a provider will charge for items or services before receiving a bill. In response to The Federal Transparency in Coverage Rule, and as part of our commitment to increased pricing transparency, we’ve made machine-readable files (MRFs) that provide the First Health PPO Network negotiated service fees and estimated out-of-network charges available through Healthcare Bluebook.
